Pre-extension Demonstration and Evaluation of Bread Wheat Varieties in Metta and Jarso Districts of East Hararghe Zone

The study was focused on demonstration of bread wheat technologies major growing area in east Hararghe .The objectives were to evaluate and demonstrate improved variety with their production package the farmers assess farmers’ feedback towards technology. activity conducted main cropping season 2019-2020 for two year at Jarso Metta districts. A total fourty (40) trial selected from potential Districts (Jarso Metta). Four FRG having 60 established. Two varieties along local check (Senate, Liban Local) planted plot 10mx10m per farmers. Yield data, economic perception preferences collected yield data analyzed by using ANOVA. results ANOVA showed that statistically significant 0.01% probability level between treatments. performance (Senate,Liban local) 36.83, 30.27 25.47 qt/ha Afgug 39.14,33.23 28.35 Dursitu Bilsuma respectively. Farmer preference & management ranks Sennate 1 st 2 nd both Generally, sennate recommended higher advantage than liban local. Therefore senate it is further scaling up.
